    ·        Tools and best practices for advocacy

    ·        How State and Federal Budgets will affect members of congregations and communities

    ·        Theological reflections

    ·        Challenges addressing homelessness and housing needs in the community

    ·        Fostering dialogue between faith communities, congregations, government officials, unions and secular advocacy groups.

    Schedule:

    10:15 A.M.                        Gathering, Opening Prayer

    10:30 to 12:00:               Pastoral and Theological Approaches to Doing Social Justice with Politically Diverse

                                                 Congregations and Communities.

    12:00 to 12:45:               Lunch

    12:45 to 2:00                   Overview of State & Federal budgets and policy priorities and protecting the social safety net

    2:00 to 3:30                     Local and Statewide initiatives on Homelessness and Housing.

    Speakers will include:

    Adam Sassone, Western New York Regional Representative , Office of the Governor of the State of New York, The Reverend Peter Cook, Executive Director, New York State Council of Churches, Michael Kink, Executive Director, Strong Economy for All, Kirk Laubenstein, Coalition for Economic Justice - Buffalo, John Washington, PUSH Buffalo, Doug Cooper, Association for Community Living. 

    Clergy, Local Government Officials and Housing Advocates.

    This event is scheduled in six areas across New York State.

    Auburn, Brooklyn, Buffalo, Little Falls, Long Island, Potsdam
