Here is a list of topics that we will be covering:

  • Social Justice with politically diverse communities and congregations
  • Tools and best practices for advocacy
  • Overview of the State and Federal Budgets, and how they will affect   members of congregations and communities
  • Theological reflections
  • Challenges addressing housing needs in the community
  • Fostering dialogue between faith communities, congregations, government   officials, unions and secular advocacy groups.

Schedule:

10 am - 10:30 am   Gathering

10:30 - Noon:   Worship, Pastoral and Theological Approaches to Doing Social Justice with Politically Diverse Congregations and Communities.

Noon - 12:30 Lunch

12:30 - 2:00  Overview of State and Federal budgets and policy priorities with an eye on protecting the social safety net

2:00 - 3:30 pm:  Local and Statewide initiatives on Homelessness and Housing.

This event is scheduled in six areas across New York State.
